Trainer Spotlight: Sam Weaver

We’re back with the last trainer interview of 2020! We hope you enjoy getting to know our newest trainer, Sam Weaver. She loves walking her dog, strawberry bananas smoothies, and helping her clients reach their goals day in and day out.

  1. Explain your background and why you got into the fitness industry. I have a sport heavy background, mainly in volleyball. I started playing in middle school and went on to play in college for a bit. During that time my passion for physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle really grew. I knew I wanted to have a career doing what I love that would allow me to help others along the way, and personal training/group fitness made the most sense. I started out teaching classes at a barre studio and then eventually found my way to Movement Revolution - which has helped me grow in so many ways to better myself in the fitness industry.

  2. What are you most passionate about in fitness and health? I love the nutrition side of the industry. I've always been interested in how big of an impact food has on the body, and what a large role diet plays in achieving the goals that we want.

  3. What is the most rewarding part of your job? Why? The most rewarding part of my job is being able to help people reach goals that they never thought would be obtainable. It's a great feeling knowing that I'm one of the main contributing factors to helping clients be as successful as they want.

  4. How are you active in your own life? What motivates you? In my own life I try to stay active by hiking, walks with my pup, and quick hiit workouts. I spend a lot of my time helping others stay active, and sometimes it can be hard for me to remember to take care of myself, but discipline has a strong influence on keeping me fit.

  5. What are some of your short and long-term goals? Do you have additional aspirations outside of your fitness career? Short term I want to stay where I am and soak up as much information and education as possible so that I have a strong foundation for the rest of my career. Long term I want to work with high school aged athletes to help them reach sport-related goals in order to have the best opportunity to play in college, if they so desire. Outside of fitness-related goals I would love to start a home baking business - sweet treats are my guilty pleasure.

  6. What amazes you most about the human body? The thing that amazes me the most about the human body is how complex we are all built. It's impossible to choose just one thing!

  7. What is your favorite post-workout meal? Post-workout I love making a strawberry banana smoothie, so delicious.

  8. If you could only bring one piece of workout equipment to a deserted island, what would it be? If I could only bring one piece of equipment with me to a desert island I would choose a set of dumbells, because the possibility of workouts is almost endless with them.

FIT TIP: Know your “why”. Whether you have a specific goal when you step into the gym, or over a period of time, make sure that your pursuit of fitness and your wellness journey is purposeful. Identify why you’re doing what you’re doing, the steps you’ll take to get there, and how you’ll stay motivated. When planning meets purpose, you will surely succeed!
