Supplements… For Your Workout Routine

You might be used to supplementing your diet, but what would you tell me if I asked you what you were doing to supplement your fitness regimen? I’m not talking about extra push-ups, or kettle bell swings. What I mean is; what are you doing outside of the gym to help you really take advantage of the strength and skills you’re gaining through your training. When was the last time you took the stairs or walked to get your cup of coffee? I challenge you to do one big activity during the week and two or three minor changes to increase your activity. The extent of these activities are based on your ability to do them. If taking on a two mile hike is too much, then go for a long walk or jog, get some fresh air! As for the minor changes, that would be taking the stairs, or standing at your desk while working ect.

Everyone gets stuck in routines, and by being caught up in a routine it can cause you to lose your interest. It sounds contradictory but the more you do to increase your activity, the more you will want to do added activities.

A good mix of exercise, diet and exploration all help in creating better mental health. We all hear about exercise and diet, but exploration is not something that gets enough credit for mental health. You need to be getting outside, and focusing on really being in the moment so you can look around and feel how revitalizing it can be to do somewhere new. So walk somewhere unexplored, hike a favorite trail or find a new coffee spot and walk to it. Be active and have a healthy mind and body!
